Terms of service

Last updated October 18, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Tulmaker LLC, an Arizona company that runs Read Me a Tale ("we", "us"). By making an account or using readmeatale.com, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.

1. Your account

You must be at least 18 and a parent, guardian or other grown-up who reads with children. One account is for one family. Keep your password safe; you're responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else is using it.

2. Free trial

New families can try Read Me a Tale free for 7 days and make up to 3 stories during the trial. A card is needed to start the trial, but you won't be charged until it ends. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your monthly plan starts automatically and your card is charged. The free trial is offered once per family.

3. Subscription and payment

  • The monthly plan costs $6.95 a month plus any sales tax, and includes 30 new stories each month. Stories you don't use don't carry over to the next month.
  • Your plan renews automatically every month, and your card is charged at the start of each month of service, until you cancel.
  • If a payment fails, you won't be able to make new stories until your card is updated.
  • We may change the price. If we do, we'll email you at least 30 days before your next charge at the new price, and you can cancel before then.

4. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time on the Account page, with no phone call or email needed. When you cancel, your plan keeps working until the end of the month (or trial) you've already started, and you won't be charged again. We don't give refunds or credits for partial months or unused stories, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong with a charge, email us and we'll make it right.

5. Stories made with AI

Stories and pictures are created by artificial intelligence based on what you type. We ask for gentle, age-appropriate stories, but AI can make mistakes, produce something odd, or occasionally get a detail wrong. Please read or look over each story before sharing it with a child. Stories may sometimes resemble others, and we can't promise each one is unique.

6. Your stories

You keep any rights you have in what you type. You may use the stories and pictures we make for you for your family's personal, non-commercial enjoyment, including reading, printing and sharing them with family and friends. Please don't sell them or use them in commercial products. You give us permission to store and process what you type and what we make for you only so we can run the service for you.

7. Fair use

Please don't:

  • ask for stories that are violent, sexual, hateful or otherwise unsuitable for children;
  • enter private details about people (such as full names, addresses or schools), or anything about someone who hasn't agreed to it;
  • share your account outside your family, resell access, or use bots or scripts to make stories;
  • try to break, overload or get around the limits or security of the service.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. If we close your account without a good reason on your part, we'll refund the unused part of your current month.

8. Changes and availability

We work to keep Read Me a Tale running smoothly, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or because of problems with the companies we rely on. We may improve or change features over time. If we change these terms in an important way, we'll tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we don't make any promises beyond those written in these terms, including promises that the service will always be available or error-free.

10. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Tulmaker LLC won't be responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, and our total responsibility for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

11. Arizona law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to sort it out together.
